- National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), chaired by former Attorney General Eric Holder, and its affiliates: National Redistricting Action Fund(NRAF) and National Redistricting Foundation (NRF). NDRC “is the centralized hub for executing a comprehensive redistricting strategy that shifts the redistricting power, creating fair districts where Democrats can compete.” NRAF’s mission is “to harness the power of people and the courts to dismantle unfair electoral maps and create a redistricting system based on democratic values.” NRF was formed in 2017 “to pursue legal challenges to gerrymandered congressional and state legislative districts and to engage in work that affects the redistricting process”. - Common Cause Education Fund, the c3 arm of Common Cause, has several programs, including one focusing on gerrymandering/redistricting. “Through research, education, grassroots mobilization, and litigation, Common Cause Education Fund is working – and leading successful reforms – in states across the U.S. to create fair maps that support a reflective democracy...When we take the lead on redistricting litigation, we maintain our nonpartisanship while taking a firm stance in favor of a redistricting process that maximizes fairness. Common Cause Education Fund has been engaged in key court cases with national implications: Common Cause v. Rucho (North Carolina), Gill v. Whitford (Wisconsin), and Benisek v. Lamone (Maryland).”
